SATURDAY

The first Saturday of each month brings another installment of the downtown gallery crawl, where hundreds of art lovers converge on the Arcade (244 Fifth Ave. N.) from 6 to 9 p.m. to socialize and view shows at multiple venues.

December's offerings naturally have a holiday vibe — everything from a price-friendly retrospective of works from every artist who's exhibited at The Showroom since May to kitschy performances of classic Christmas songs at Twist Art Gallery.

The latter will be sung, from within a life-size snow globe, at the top of each hour by Detroit native J.J. Jones, aka the Human Snow Globe.

Elsewhere, the Arts Company will present unconventional art in
the conventional mediums of wood, canvas and clay.

Tinney Contemporary will host a fundraiser for the Lost Boys Foundation featuring handcrafted works by some of the Lost Boys of Sudan who make their home in Nashville. Admission to all galleries is free.
